Green Ottawa Townhomes

Real Green Buildings For Life

The RGB Group’s motto is “real green buildings for life”. After developing successful green building infill projects in Ottawa’s desirable Westboro Beach and Glebe neighbourhoods, CEO Rolf Baumann decided to aim at LEED Platinum for The Hamptons townhomes in Hog’s Back.

The Hamptons was awarded Ontario’s first-ever LEED Platinum Certification for a multi-unit residential development. This is a “buildings for life” standard for health and efficiency. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, focuses on increasing energy, water, and materials efficiency while enhancing breathing quality and the environment. LEED Platinum also covers local sourcing of building materials and forestry stewardship for wood used in construction.

While sustainably sourced hardwood floors, quartz countertops and luxury ceramics are all standard in The Hamptons, these upscale townhomes pay special attention to air quality. Heating, cooling and ventilation systems are all designed to maximize human health in indoor environments. Grandparents, children and anyone with respiratory challenges will benefit from this extra attention to detail. And when it’s time to let the fresh air and sunshine in, large, energy efficient low-E argon gas double-glaze windows open wide.
